Meet Abdi

Abdi believes that every person carries a unique story and a distinct journey toward healing. Her passion is to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore, process, grow, and heal from life's experiences and challenges. With deep empathy and unconditional positive regard, Abdi works to recognize each client’s potential and support meaningful, lasting change.

She understands that all life experiences shape the way individuals see and engage with the world and that true healing occurs in the mind, body, and soul. Abdi works with individuals, adolescents, and couples on issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relational challenges, sexuality, and sexual dysfunction. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and flexible, incorporating mindfulness practices, coping strategies, and emotional regulation tools, always tailored to meet each client’s unique goals.

As a bilingual and bicultural therapist, Abdi brings a firsthand understanding of the cultural dynamics that often influence mental health. She is passionate about offering culturally-informed care to BIPOC individuals, with a special focus on the Latinx community. Abdi honors the role of intersectionality in shaping each client’s mental wellness journey and seeks to create an affirming space for those navigating family of origin issues, cultural identity struggles, or minority stress.

Abdi also works with individuals and couples who wish to integrate their Latinx heritage into their therapeutic journey, aiming to reduce the stigma often associated with mental and emotional health in minority communities.

Originally from Honduras, Abdi grew up in California before making Dallas her home for over a decade. She is passionate about helping others grow, heal, and thrive through her work as a therapist, speaker, and coach. Outside of her professional life, she loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and their rescue pup, Pepper. She enjoys serving at her church, trying new recipes, and has recently discovered a love for gardening. Abdi’s life experiences and deep commitment to her faith and community shape her compassionate, grounded, and relatable approach to every connection she makes.
